You know how you always want those perfect hot chips at home? I have found the way! Here is everything to need to know about how to make the perfect hot chips.


1. Red skinned potatoes (that’s what I prefer)
2. 3 tbs olive oil
3. Baking paper
4. Rock salt


Turn oven onto 200 degrees C and let it heat up.

Wash the potatoes and remove any growths. Cut them into 2cm thick chips to get the best result.

Pat them down with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.

Get a clean plastic bag and put the chips in with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and a tablespoon of salt. Shake the bag until the chips are coated in oil and salt. You can jazz them up by adding mixed herbs, garlic salt or chicken salt.

Tip the chips onto an oven tray lined with baking paper. Spread them evenly to ensure they will bake properly. If they overlap, they will not crisp up.

Put into the oven and cook for 10 minutes or until the side facing the baking paper is golden.

Then flip the chips to crisp up the other side and cook for another 10 minutes.

You should then have perfect crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
