As a beginner, this mix also makes sense. Not only will the gym provide you access to more equipment, but you can also hire a trainer to help you get started as you develop your strength and skills as a weightlifter. After a while, you may not need the trainer anymore, and you could have used the time to build a home gym that has a good selection of weightlifting equipment that will increase the possibilities for getting more of your workouts done at home.
