With so much noise all around us, it is important to create a haven away from the pressure and commotion of everyday life. Your bedroom can be this haven. If you follow these simple tips, your bedroom can be a quiet space – a private retreat that’s perfect for resting and recovering from life’s stresses.

Divide the space

To create your personal sanctuary, your bedroom should be divided into areas where you do different types of activities, e.g. working and sleeping. Try to allocate a space away from your bed for working on your laptop, checking your emails and watching TV. A real sense of sanctuary and quiet comes from limited media stimulation. This means if you are going to have a TV, you should install it in a place where it won’t dominate the landscape.

Control the noise

Make sure your bedroom is quiet both in terms of acoustics and visuals. Avoid loud prints or bright colours that may clash or be overly stimulating to the eye.
