How To Flirt

Flirting is one of the most natural things in the world and can sometimes be a gateway to true romance… and sometimes it’s just for a bit of fun with a co-worker at that drunken office do! Either way, if you’re going to do it, you need to do it properly – here are some top tips.

Before The Conversation

Confidence – If you feel confident, you’ll look confident and that’s always an attractive trait. Don’t shy away behind your friends… or your pint! Stand tall and make others want to get to know you!

Eye Contact – Your eyes aren’t just there to check out the hotties in the bar – make eye contact with them. And don’t be afraid to flutter those eyelashes… if you’re a girl. Guys, don’t flutter your eyelashes, it won’t do you any favours with the ladies!

Smile – Have you ever wanted to talk to someone who’s sat there with a big frown on their face? Thought not! Smile – obviously not the constant cheesy grin smile – but show your pearly whites and look like you’re fun to be around.

Body Language – Having your arms crossed in front of you or constantly fixing your hair or clothes will make you come across nervous and unapproachable. Try to look relaxed and don’t fidget.

Initiating A Conversation

Girls, don’t be afraid to be the one to approach the guy; and guys, every girl loves the compliment of somebody finding her attractive so don’t be reluctant to get over there and initiate the two-way flirting.

If you’re at a loss for words, ask open ended questions about where they live, they’re job, they’re family etc. This way it’ll give you a little time to get those stars out of your eyes and drum up a good rapport.

During The Conversation

Always always always listen to what your ‘flirtee’ is saying. Be attentive and look interested – even if they’re boring you! Don’t be afraid to make a little physical contact either – touch his/her arm when they’re telling their story.

But before you do any of the above, the most important thing is to try to be yourself as much as possible. There’s no point in pretending to be someone you’re not, if the relationship progresses further than a bit of flirting, they’ll see the true you anyway!
